1 Ideating
In 2020, when I wrote and illustrated Amy the Bee, my younger sister loved it the most. It was never supposed to be a design project, just a little poem with some drawings. Two years later I found Betsy the Squirrel in the notes app of my phone. I took out my Wacom and got started on this.

An Excerpt
Betsy the squirrel was quite the prick.
She enjoyed whacking dogs a bit.
When they didn’t look, she’d bite their tails
and run away to a hiding place.
One fine morning, she saw a frog
And decided to trap him in the bog.
She pounced on him from a treetop
And didn’t let him squirm out or hop.
But Mr. Frog wasn’t one to mess with
He didn’t like to be bullied the littlest bit.
With one long leap, he jumped ahead
And gave the squirrel a bump on her head.
"Silly Betsy, why did you do that?
It bothered me, and you know that."
Betsy looked sorry and apologized.
"I won’t do that again." She lied.

The printing process taught me the most. Publication design is not easy, but it is simple after some youtube tutorials/trial and error.
